Born 1973 in Holbæk, Denmark; lives in Berlin.
Studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and the Academy of Fünen, Denmark.

The work of Tue Greenfort focuses on ecology and climate change but intentionally lacks a didactic, instructional attitude. A recent work of his is the liquid manure wagon »Diffuse Einträge« ("Diffuse Deposits") (fig.), which was prominently exhibited within the urban environment as part of the Sculpture Projects Munster 07. Greenfort used a liquid manure pump to suck water from the local lake Aasee which was then enriched with iron(III) chloride and sprayed, in a spectacularly high arc, back into the lake. Iron(III) chloride »inoculates« the water against the high concentration of phosphate that enters the water due to the fertilizer and manure of the surrounding agriculture and livestock (15,000 cows and 85,000 pigs). Specific amounts of iron(III) chloride is regularly added to the water so as to alleviate the permanent plague of algae caused by the phosphate. Greenfort, however, views this form of treatment as only a cosmetic measure: a simply remedy for the symptoms that does not aim to combat the cause but rather to maintain an artificial idyll.
